If you are one, like me, who was caught off guard by the "Now you have to pay" notice to continue 'trying out' customizations for your PC, you can now have a voice. Reply to this post with sites you have found that offer truly FREE downloads for customizing your PC's look.

I am doing this primarily for the principle of the matter. The issue, for me, isn't necessarily the money (although I could see it being an issue for people with tight budgets - $20 could keep one from going hungry in a two week period). The issue is that NOTHING...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was mentioned about a 50 meg limit and/or a $20 fee to continue beyond that limit in ANY of the member registration screens or documents, including confirmation emails (I know because I printed them out). If I HAD known about this upfront, I would have left this site and I believe that is the fear of the organization maintaining this site - that if people know about this caveat, they will leave immediately and go elsewhere.

I will monitor my post closely for any type of tampering or censorship by the administrators as there was nothing stated in the registration that the forums are moderated and/or censored. Freedom of Speech laws insure that ALL opinions are heard.

Now, THAT's funny. This site and all sites is dictator-owned. Suppose you owns a site with a forum, and someones annoying you? Ban that person.

You cannot enter someone's home and expect to be freely expressible. If there is children around, and those parents care, you will be kicked out screaming about freedom of speech. I am strong believer of freedom of speech, but there is limits.

Hmm all the talking made me hungry for popcorn. Pass me some please?

In this case $20 seems to be causing you an issue, surely after spending $xxxx on a pc $20 is hardly breaking the bank....unless of course your pc is less than $20 then I rest my case and crawl back to where I came from

So, since you are "monitoring"....

put up, or shut up and go away to one of your "free" sites.

I'll lay good money on the fact that once people like you have leeched those sites for all you can, you'll wanna come back here cos it will be one of the few sites still around when all the others have been bled dry.

the cost of the computer isn't the issue here. the computer was paid for by his/her parent(s). he/she doesn't want to spend his/her allowance to buy a subsricption to wc. kids nowadays!!! i had to mow yards in order to have any money when i was a kid way back when anybody have any raisinettes?

It never ceases to amaze me how some people come to this site and whine and complain for a matter of 20 bucks! They "put their two cents in" and that's it.....they're gone......why bother dude?? I feel this is the best place on the web....the best bang for your buck
