GrandPrix is over for another year.....

Back again, folks....

Hope you guys have been having as much fun as I have over the past 4 days.

These cars just get faster and faster....in spite of regs attempting to slow them down.   Now, if only they were easy to distinguish at 306kph.  Looking for some coloured tape on their camera pods to tell them apart ain't the easiest of things at that rate of knots.....even for a 20 year veteran....

If only.....

We did request they ensure the colour-coding of the cameras be extended around all sides....which they did do....

BTW......Lead driver's is red....second car is black....'T' car is yellow....

Welcome back Paul, yet another patch on the jacket.

So, would we have seen you on TV? I watched the race live over here, but didn't see ya waving

Sput....I may have been there but I haven't seen the race yet....

I was on driver's left, Turn 1 [directly adjacent to the end of the white blend line from pit lane]...and the only 'incident' of note there was Montoya got a bit wide on the first lap....

I hope you exiled and moderated McLaren while you were there Paul.
They were utterly pathetic.

Yes....watching the McLarens getting all 'loose' in the front end when exiting turn 2 under acceleration was a bit 'disconcerting'....whereas Ferrari was pretty darn 'tight' in every respect.  Seems another epoch - a million years ago... when McLaren dominated.....

WB paul, you brought some nice pictures from there?

Yes indeed Jafo ...but that was when Formula 1 cars mean't something .... new regulation, the rear wing endplates have been enlarged to give the sponsors more advertising space!???
Yet the cars only carry ditsy little numbers .... the usual finishing order .... Dumb and Dumber 1 - 2.
Another season, same old crap.
And Attila the Hun gets US$97M for being a good X-Box player?
Bloody insane.
I look forward to the day the Fag Packets are banned and the Major Motor industry manufacturers pull out .....
The 'Real Racers' start in a couple of weeks ..... on two wheels!
However, my views are a bit coloured by the lack of a Jimmy Clark or a Gilles Villeneuve ...... Dumb and Dumber are pretty tame compared with drivers of that calibre.
At least you enjoyed the show ....

Before the GP, I was excited about the traction control and auto-boxes being banned.
After falling asleep literally 3 times during the race, I'm wondering if it really was such a good idea.......

All this fuss about some silly looking cars...

There'll never be any F1 street racing here in NH too many frost heaves for cars slung that low and a head-on with a moose in one of those things would be pretty scary

Its like that here in Canada too!

We have the Long Beach Grand Prix here. Brigades go up and part of the town becomes the race track. It's about to start again soon, and its once a year. It's always fun because you can hear the cars buzzing all over the town. Boy, are they loud.

mah, we have the occasional "gathering" where we party, have fun and in the end, burn rubber for a couple of blocks you dont want to be left behind when that happens, 7 cars burning rubber at the same time happens to attract cops for some reason.... wierd, and the smell stinks and the smoke stings your eyes.

Bring back front engines and skinny rubber I say!
We were there (only because it cost me nothing and the 'Corporate' catering is good!) and it was dead boring Hippy......unlike MotoGP.
Here's a thought, Schumacher gets around US$100,000,000 for sitting in a safety capsule and flicking a few buttons ..... while a group of people like Jafo get nothing and stand out in the open for 4 days or so, in all weathers, vulnerable to assault by a variety of mis-guided wheeled missiles.
Without Jafo and company Bernie's Circus of the Mentally Challenged wouldn't happen .... unless the Circus Master actually (Shock! Gasp! Horror!) paid people for their hard work.
Colin Bloody Chapman has a lot to answer for ...... >
