Photos as wallpapers

I’ve just been looking at the wallpaper section and amongst the newest submission I was struck by a couple of the worst photos I’ve ever seen. If it were possible to rate a 0, I would have.

If photos are to be allowed in the wallpaper section, at least let’s see something worthy of being called either a photo or wallpaper. These two should have hit the darkroom floor without a second’s thought.

Photography requires just as much skill as creating graphics. 'Point and shoot' takes no skill at all.

/me is left speechless…

Fuzzy - you've obviously not seen some of my photos if those are the worst you've ever seen

I've submitted some photos here which were rejected which would have been worse - I thought they had merit until I thought about them more objectively after they were rejected, so trust me, photos CAN be worse

The photos are compared to the same standard as the wallpapers that are submitted.  They are rated on the same scale.

I would like to see some higher quality submissions (hint hint Fuzzy).  When I get some time, I'll try and contribute some, too.

Photography is one of my passions. I have a really nice image that I took of a honey bee on my desktop at work. But, I've always been so proprietory about my photos, I've been hesitant to upload them here. But, maybe I should upload this one, and see what you think, Fuzzy. I do agree. Most of the photos uploaded here are cr..... er, not great. p

I uploaded one of my low key walls.  I tried to keep the file size down, so it's a bit lower res than it could be (well, a lot...but the original file was over 4 megs...) but you get the idea.

i had a really nice photo of a spider in his web, he had a skull type mark on the back of his abdomen and with the sunshining from behind, he was semitransparent. i cant find it right now though... i will look for it, its soo cool.

I would think that it takes a lot of skill to master photography. You'd also have to have an abundance of patience, and an insanely keen eye for that sort of thing. You'd also have to know your geography like the back of your hand, and what places/things are the best things to "Point and shoot". I personally couldn't stand it. Having to wait for the perfect timing, lighting, position, camera, camera angle, etc.

Though from your description of this wall I haven't seen, it sounds like someone has used a disposeable kodak camera and accidentally snapped a photo!

Good photos, at least in my opinion, sometimes involve luck. The one I just submitted is a classic example. I just hope it's accepted.
