jdeskworkarea (litestep) & windowblinds

I created a nice desktop setup with litestep which you can see here if ya want.

anyways, my jdeskwork area is set so that when windows are maximized they don't overtake my taskbar up top, so my only setting is for the top

jdeskworkarea "0,78,0,0"

when i run windowblinds with any skin, when the window becomes maximized it's hard to explain so i'll have to show this in a a screenshot...

basically, the window goes above where the workarea is, but gets cutoff at the point where the workarea border is... not only that but now the maximized window comes off the ground, whereas before if the window were maximized it would have extended all the way to the bottom of the screen.

i could possibly understand why it may get cut off at the top, but moving up off the ground?

anyone else have this problem, or ever see anything like this or have any suggestions?

changing the jdeskworkarea so far has proved to be futile as the changes i make only just seem to cut things off further...

comments, questions, help appreciated

yeah, missed that, i had taken that shot for a friend and just thought i'd reuse it.

i just updated that image to remove that... anyways.... back to the original topic.

has anyone seen this sort of thing and / or can it be fixed.

hmmm, there used to be a tweak in the old builderblinds utility that had a setting for maximized windows, that I recall solved this problem many moons ago for me.
I don't know if current versions of skin studio have this or not. I don't think that windowblinds has this setting in it's configuration screens.
Hopefully a windowblinds guru can steer us in the right direction.

yeah, w/o windowblinds everything works great. right now i'm using my existing setup without windowblinds and all of my windows stay within my workarea, and when maximized the window takes up the entire screen except for the 78 pixels or top reserved for the taskbar area.

with windowblinds (with any skin) when the window gets maximized it gets all jacked up like in that second screenshot where the window is off the ground by 100+ pixels and also cuts the top off near the top of the work area.

i have a feeling this a problem that isn't going to be solved.

There's a line to include in a file called wb.ini in your Windows folder but for the life of me I can't remember it.

something like... show max=1

same problem with all skins?
there is one setting in WB skins that could interfer with desktop area settings.
try this:
- quit WB
- open the *.UIS file of the skin you used with a text editor
- look for these settings:
MaxBorderCutLeft=0
MaxBorderCutTop=0
MaxBorderCutRight=0
MaxBorderCutBottom=0
- first try to set all these settings to 0 and start WB again
- if this does not help, quit WB and delete these four settings and try again

if all this does not help, try using desktop2.dll instead of jdesk.dll
else get a uxtheme patcher and switch to msstyles.
