How the heck do I use Toon XP???

double click on the theme file and it will do everything for you...

But just so you know, this is not Stardock Support and it is Not Pixtudio support...

I think you need to install it, and if you have themeManager installed, Asign it with Thememanager. If you dont it will do it it's self. If this dose not work contact [email protected] and Im sure they will take care of you.

 

It's a winstyles theme, which means all the components are contained in the file and assigned to the appropriate program (WinBlinds etc) by what used to be winstyles and now is the thememanager program in the Object Desktop. So you should install thememanager and then use that to load the suite.

And.....you didn't waste your 9$

What I got with my purchase was access to two files I downloaded. One was a zip file with the wallpapers (that works). The other was called ToonXP_thememanager.exe and it reinstalled ThemeManager (it asked for the registration number that came with the ToonXP purchases). After it was done installing...NO JOY!

When I tried installing one of the files extracted from the ToonXP_thememanager file...they have a *.dxpack extension so they aren't recognized as windowblinds theme or a desktopx theme (*.suite or *.theme).

you have to copy and paste the serial nmber that was sent to you in the email with the download link into the serial number field when installing...

Just curious,is there a readme file in the zip with instructions maybe?

an enable/disable exe. icon should be placed on your desktop....click on it and the theme will appear...

...but be warned, that when you do, you will get a new themesmanager and It will not show the suites you have previously downloaded.

(only way to fix it, is when you are going to change themes again, un-install themesmanager in Stardock Central then Re-install) then the old suites will return without ToonXP).....

p.s. when you get it working, tell if the DX clock works....Mine doesn't

There is no readme file and the only way I was able to get the extracted files was to have entered the serial number. However, since there is nothing with a *.wba, *.suite or *.dxtheme extension, I have NO idea how to make my desktop look like the screenshot used to sell the files!

Heeeeeyyyyy! That would explain why I suddenly have TWO Enable-disable type icons on my desktop. One says "theme" the old one said "thememanager."

Okay...I'm gonna try it...well, I think I'll wait until I'm done burning this CD...just in case the program causes a crash or something. Whenever I download and install a new theme, I get an error message and the computer wants to send something to Microsoft!

how long ago did you purchase Toon-Xp?

A couple days ago...Thursday or Friday, maybe. I've now uninstalled all three incidences of ThemeManager from my computer and will reinstall using ToonXP...see if that helps.

Yippee! Uninstalling everything an reinstalling worked! Unfortunately I forgot to save all my old themes, but I can download them again!

ok, cool, reason I asked is that I noticed with the new updated email there are two links, one for ThemeManager and one for the DXTheme and Walls....

If you have ODNet there wouldn't be any need for the ThemeManager to be installed again...

m€Ÿ€nd tripp: If the clock doesn't work my suspicion is that the plugin used to run it is old. have you tried right clicking the clock and checking to see if you have the latest analogue clock plugin? This was the case with the clocks I made. the newest version of dx didn't allow them to run with the old plugin.

What do you mean? How will the theme be installed then?

....If you only download the DX pack you only get the the walls and zoomers...

..I'm confused..

The new plugin should of come with the new dx. right click on the arrows and choose properties. in the additional abilities section see what plugin is in there. click on it once to highlight and choose configure. If the plugin isn't called analog clock 3 (thats the image clock plugin and I don't know what the toonxp clock is) then write down the configuration so you can put it back in later. Remember its name. Now click on it once to highlight it. the click remove to get rid of it. now click on add below the additional box. Find the analog plugin with the same name and with the newest version. add it then go to the configuration of that plugin and put back in what it is supposed to look like. If you don't have a plugin that works go to the dx library and start downloading clocks that work like yours until you get one that works, the plugin automatically installs itself when you load the object the first time. Then go and repeat the above.

Update: While trying to reinstall new themes, Toon XP disappeared again. I sent an email to Stardock support. I paid fifty bucks for Object Desktop but get nagscreens forever telling me to buy it. An error message is generated whenever I download and apply a new theme.

Seems silly that I end up with three versions the theme manager (ObjectDesktop, Holiday Desktop and Toon XP) but I can't access all themes via one version of theme manager!
