Question for everyone using WindowBlinds......

When you start your computer, does the "Explorer Synchronizer" tool pop up on your desktop for about 5 seconds?

Yrag: I'm talking about the explorer synchronizer that appears to come with SkinStudio. I think it is affecting my ability to show toolbar backgrounds in my WB skins. No one seems to know what the correct setting is, or maybe it just doesn't work on my system. It's been driving me insane!

Ahhh...got ya...I use Skin Studio and do not have that pop-up....but then again we probably have different settings. Give me a minute and I'll see if anyone is having the same problem...can't just be you.

I don't have SkinStudio but BoXXi maybe this could help?

https://www.stardock.com/products/skinstudio/faq.htm#FAQ_16

Maybe you could use that to turn it off?

Arkantos: I have been right through TweakWB, and it still screws up. I want to know if there is a way of turning OFF the synchronizer and still keeping my toolbar images that I set for the skins.

And also, I NEVER get dialog backgrounds either.

Nope, I've never seen the synchronizer.

BoXXi - did you happen to update Stardock's 'TweakShell'?

No..... today I uninstalled every Stardock app on my system and reinstalled the lot! WBlinds was fine until I added SkinStudio, and the my toolbars went west again!

Wow....this is a stupid thought, but did you exclude WB in SS settings?

It was happenig to me too for a long period, I couldn't see the toolbar bitmaps...after the last update of WindowBlinds, SkinStudio and a new fresh instalation of Windows XP, everything works fine now.

BoXXi - install the newest version of SS Pro thru SDC...they took out the 'disable' option in SS and it now excludes SS in WB by default...hopefully that ends your problem.

You know, I have started having troubles with WB for the first time. Seems not to want to install particular skins, and also the animations are showing up in use, but are not in the *my animations* section.

I haven't tried all that I might to solve the problem yet though...

GM - I think that Icon Developer and Skin Studio (which are almost identical) are not playing nice with WB (I just don't think it's WB per se) ...you might want to exclude both in WB and see if you still have problems.

Ah... Thanks, yrag. I notice that within the last 20 min. there are new updates for those. Are they correcting the problem? I was avoiding doing anything more in there for now... kind of in the dumps and not thinking brightly enough.

Go ahead and get the updates...no re-boot and such involved...and yes I think it may help some on going problems, although not sure about BoXXi's since I can't replicate it..

I've been meaning to ask... When SC has several updates available, and you accomplish one that tells you to reboot, is it OK to ignore the reboot until after the other updates? Or is it better to go ahead, reboot, and then come back and get the rest?
I ignore. The reboot is only to reload some ini files and doesn't effect any other update. Though you must reboot before updating the same proggy more than once.
