Best Planets For Trading?
Money or Pop
With every iteration of GC3, this advice seems to change. The question is, what should I be looking for when I want to send a freighter to another planet-- Population, or Income? Anything else?
TIA,
Richard

Population and Distance.
Thank you!!
I find that income is more important than just population (though pop will create a nice income as well, so higher pop planets also tend to have better income). If the planet has a high class yet still a low population, and has a nice income already, it will potentially grow pop and have an even better income. Though, in practice, I do generally go for the home planet, as they already have a decent pop cap, and often gets the Central Bank. Distance is always a good thing.
Distance(0.025 per tile) + Raw Production(3% of landed planet) = Trade Income. Planet Income is not used. You then have +0.1 per turn + any modifiers(Techs, Events, Starbases etc) and population increases. (Unless this has changed with 3.5+)
Ah, thanks Horemvore, I assumed incorrectly. Good to know the actual values used.
Q: Does the originating planet use these values as well, or is the only thing that matters the destination planet?
