Spacemonger crashes

I just purchased "Object Desktop Manager" which contains Spacemonger  3.0 and am very unhappy with it.

Previously I've been using Spacemonger 1.4.0 and have never had any issues at all. Spacemonger 3.0 is continually crashing, displaying "odd" filesize behavior, etc.

I guess I'll be using 1.4.0 until you get the crashing issues figured out.

Was there ever any follow up to this?

I've been experiencing random crashes ever since I bought Spacemonger 3 back in 2017. However, after all the Windows updates since then its been getting worse and worse. Trying to manage files (copy/move/delete) either within Spacemonger directly or externally via Explorer causes crashes. Symlinks (symbolic) cause crashes. Polling network drives can trigger crashes. Even just leaving Spacemonger idle in the background for ~30 minutes will cause it to crash.

It's really frustrating because there's nothing else quite like Spacemonger available and there's been zero patches or updates since its initial release! It's clear the developers don't use the program (if they did they'd notice its completely unstable). Or maybe they just don't care.

I am also experiencing crashes when scanning my hard drive. It hangs for about 8 seconds and then closes, never completing. It makes it unusable for me. =(

Could you please provide some support to resolve these issues?

Sorry, just saw your reply. No, no followup. I have just been using the original Spacemonger, which works fine for my needs.

I think others considering Stardock software should take their non-response to my query negatively. It's been so long, I totally forgot. I don't appreciate spending money on buggy programs, especially when the support staff is non-responsive to questions.

Yes, I agree. SpaceMonger is a fantastic program, but for those of us that are having issues, the lack of support is troublesome. It doesn't help that Stardock is not the original developer (or publisher) of SpaceMonger. They might have acquired the source code but they probably do not have any development resources familiar with it.

In any case, I have worked around my issue. I noticed that the program always hung and crashed while scanning C:\Mount, a mystery folder containing a bunch of folders and files from Users, Program Files, and ProgramData. I'm not sure what program created it, but after some research, I suspect it was some backup software I was using. The folder was owned by TrustedInstaller and had security perms removed. From other reports on the internet, it was safe to delete, and it did not appear to have files in it that I needed, so I booted into Safe Mode (to make sure there were no locks on the files), took ownership of all the folders/files, gave myself Full Control, and deleted the contents. Now, SpaceMonger scans fine.

In short, I suspect there is an issue with scanning files and folders with complex/restrictive permissions.

Onedrive Error code 410 SpaceMonger is unable to access onedrive.

Please I need the solution, I see in the forum that almost a year has passed and nobody answers with a solution. It scares me because I just bought Object Desktop and if they take that time to give a solution, what kind of company is it?
