Yes, I agree. SpaceMonger is a fantastic program, but for those of us that are having issues, the lack of support is troublesome. It doesn't help that Stardock is not the original developer (or publisher) of SpaceMonger. They might have acquired the source code but they probably do not have any development resources familiar with it.
In any case, I have worked around my issue. I noticed that the program always hung and crashed while scanning C:\Mount, a mystery folder containing a bunch of folders and files from Users, Program Files, and ProgramData. I'm not sure what program created it, but after some research, I suspect it was some backup software I was using. The folder was owned by TrustedInstaller and had security perms removed. From other reports on the internet, it was safe to delete, and it did not appear to have files in it that I needed, so I booted into Safe Mode (to make sure there were no locks on the files), took ownership of all the folders/files, gave myself Full Control, and deleted the contents. Now, SpaceMonger scans fine.
In short, I suspect there is an issue with scanning files and folders with complex/restrictive permissions.
