How to restore default settings/ default themes

I've been toying around with Windowsblinds 8 for a couple hours now trying to figure out why some of the transparency isn't working properly and google chrome's title bar disappears. I've done a fair amount of research online trying to solve these issues but to no avail.

What I'm looking for is a way to remove all custom settings and changes to the default themes. Like a factory reset of sorts.

Just apply the Windows Aero skin in Windowblinds, then right click on the Windowblinds tray icon and select Unload Windowblinds. It would be a good idea to then reboot your computer.

If Chrome is missing a titlebar, close all open Chrome windows and reopen them and you should be fine.

Note that you must close all Chrome windows.

That's not working for me, Neil. Part of my titlebar is messed up. No matter how many times I close and reopen Chrome, I get  no Close/Min buttons. I'm using the default Chrome Theme.

I have the same problem on Windows 8.1 and Chrome. Opening and closing it does NOT help. However, unloading WindowBlinds does fix it.

This is the same thing I'm experiencing, but I also have issues with strange transparency with the Win8 theme. It's hard to describe, but it's obvious something is wrong.

I should have clarified in my first post:

I have tried:

  • Restarting
  • Changing themes
  • Unloading/loading
  • Uninstalling and re-installing all questionable programs
  • Deleting all Windowsblinds files and re-installing

I have closed all processes associated with Google Chrome before applying the themes

Broken Transparency

Notice that even though the window transparency slider is all the way down, the preview doesn't show any transparency and neither does the actual theme.

I would like to somehow reset WindowsBlinds to factory default to resolve the broken skin problem.

I have not tried Restoring to a point in time when it worked, but I will try that next.

[Solved]kinda*

I was able to solve my skin transparency problems while messing around in WindowsBlinds 8 settings. Here's what I did:

  1. Change to aero skin
  2. Change windows to default aero theme
  3. Uninstall WindowsBlinds
  4. Restart
  5. Install WindowsBlinds
  6. Uncheck setting "Do not use per-pixel frames even if the skin supplies them"
  7. Click icon on the top left and choose "rebuild list"
*I'm still having problems with missing google chrome window frame
