The diatribes from politicians on the right are that we're flushing civilization down the drain with bad economic and social policies that will bankrupt the country. You can argue till the cows come how about whether they're correct or not, but it's pretty rare for someone in Congress to claim the Dems are intentionally out to destroy the country, just that they're incompetent boobs with no idea how the world works.
I'm afraid you have not met my father... Or conservative talk radio... Please note that I am very conservative ideologically. I just take equal pleasure in ripping apart arguments regardless of which ideology spawned them.
How sheeple conservatives seem to see the world:
Socialists: evil that think they're good
Liberals: idiots that are sometimes deliberately evil
Conservatives: people with some semblance of sense
Reactionaries: the smart people
Fascists: the people that went a bit overboard
This is more my view of the situation...
Communists: great in theory and on small scale. Bad in practice on the large scale
Socialists: poor economic incentives for success, but at least your heart is in the right place
Liberals: individuals that prioritize public welfare over rewarding the success of those that deserve it
Conservatives: individuals that prioritize rewarding deserved success over public welfare
Reactionaries: those that are bound and determined not to change unless presented with clear proof from several like-minded peers. This group is naturally going to be more of an echo-chamber than the others.
Fascists: like fascists, I think I could be a benevolent dictator. Unlike fascists, I don't trust myself enough to be benevolent and not go mad with power to actually want to be a dictator.
The farther away from the middle you go, the more you progress into ideologue shepherds and the sheeple that follow them territory. Do not attempt to reason with a sheeple. They cannot comprehend reasoned arguments. I have proven things to several of them on both sides of the aisle on several occasions. They still did not understand and one even yelled in frustration "your logic can't explain everything!" in a desperate attempt to suggest that because I can't prove everything, all logic is worthless.
PS: that person was my father. I have an interesting relationship with the man. I'm no less conservative than he is, but I actually bother considering the reasoning of an argument before attempting to use it in a debate. The tragedy is that some people get to the point where they defer all judgment on right or wrong to others and then get upset at the investigator when the arguments their reference espouses don't hold up under investigation. That is my definition of a sheeple.
