Hey guys just bought the alpha, quick question on the shipyard, what key or mouse button is used to rotate the camera? also is there a way to move the menu interface around?

Rotate the camera with the middle mouse button. That is uniform throughout the game.
At the moment, I don't think there is a way of moving the menu interface around.
maybe something is wrong, but i can zoom in and out with the middle mouse button but i can not rotate the camera?
Most current mice have at least 2 buttons + scroll wheel
the scroll wheel also acts as a button so rolling it should zoom and pushing it should allow you to rotate
if this doesent work most likely something is wrong with your mouse
