E2015 Q & A
If you have any questions, feel free to post them. I'll take as many of those questions as I can and put them into an FAQ that I'll put into the Founder's Vault.

When can we expect a "official" announcement of this game?
How long will the Founder offer be available?
Will there be a Elite Founders edition that includes all DLC and/or other perks?
N/A
For me the most important answer is whether there will be tactical battles.
The only reason I do not supported Gal Civ is that it is still not clear (I can perhaps buy it without tactical battles when it is released, but I am not paying a fortune for a game without them).
64-bit CPU requirement? Running Nitrous engine?
What's planned in terms of modding?
- About the Big Bad in this game - will it act mostly scripted (a la Warlock) or more procedural?
- Is there going to be an actual Campaign, or is it like Warlock where you play a randomized game with an objective?
- Will there be other civs at all?
- Will there be wildlands in this game?
I put my son's nickname in GC3 as a star. Someday in the future my recently arrived daughter will ask why her nickname never made it into a video game. Clearly I showed favoritism towards my son. Any chance you'll save me from that and have a name that ___ for this?
Really, I didn't have any good questions yet.
Will there be a cow level?
Will there be all the same factions or are there new ones planned?
Will there be a forum just for Founders?
Will scenarios be able to be generated? How much control will we have over the setup?
Is it single-player only (it's fine if it is, just curious)?
What are the main resources you'll have to work with? How do you acquire and spend them?
This is a TBS game, correct? (It wasn't explicitly stated, but expecting this)
How big is the team working on the game? Can we know some of the folks involved? That Derek Paxton guy isn't in charge again, is he? I've heard he's quite a slave driver. Called "Old Man Paxton" 'round these parts.
Where are you now with assets and game completeness and is this game going to receive support for as long as Legendary Heroes has so far?
Cool, all my questions made it! Thanks. A couple more if I may:
- What role do shards have? I.e. other than campaign goal for protection and mana nodes, do they serve some other purpose?
edit: oh, already answered in the guide
- With no actual competing civs, it seems you're testing the limits of 4X definition. Do you even consider it as one?
edit: - Do you have a name yet, or are you looking for suggestions?
Will it have multiplayer?
Will it require Steamworks DRM?
(i) What scale will the game have?
Precisely, what will be the size of units & city population? The same as LH, i.e. cities featuring hundreds of people and armies tens (hundreds with 1.7?) of soldiers?
I really, really, really hope we won't be facing the great evil one with nine guys in our vast army, though visually crafted ![]()
(ii) Will the game's setting be more dark, miserable, as the evil stalks the land?
How does the whole 'Founders Vault' thing work? Will I have to pre-purchase the game to get answers to questions about it?
Yeah, I guess. Founders Vault is for elite users only. We, ordinary citizens, have to wait for crumbs from the master's table.
Well there is no way I'm pre-purchasing to get answers to questions about the game which would normally be used to determine if I want to buy the game in the first place. Seems rather pointless to me.
The Vault is just a webpage full of images and music and other little things from the game. There is nothing groundbreaking in it. From what I understand its simply intended to be a extra plus for their forum pre-orderers. For marketing reasons they haven't released to much info on the next game but they will eventually.
Will their be a dynasty system implemented this time?
If they adhere to the WoM design docs, it would seem likely.
It seems very unlikely given the game's story and setup.
No dynasty. Not in this one anyway.
sad panda is sad.
:'(
that was honestly one of the most innovative and definitive features of wom; and i really look forward to the day that my play-throughs will once again contain such depth of story.
I know what you mean. The problem here is that it's hard to convey limited time with the idea of being able to found dynasties. The player is trying to stop the end of the world as we know it.
i see your point. if i was in those shoes, having kids would probably be the last thing on my mind too.
That all sounds very "conservative". A child is between one man and a woman. Preferably married under great celebration to unite the families and blah blah blah.
And then you go to another post where magic is supposed to be this awesome, gamechanging part of the game. So dedicate yourself to that concept instead.
You want kids? Open your spellbook and magick some up!

Not exactly the same, but I always thought it was a cool spell.
