[suggestion] Community built lootpack mod

I don't know about you, but IMO, the more variety of loot the better.

And now that it appears that a loot drop issue will be fixed in 1.6, it would be a great time to build a lootpack mod.

Basically it would work like this. Players would submit ideas for different kinds of loot, and a volunteer modder(s) would build the mod and make it available to the community.

To jumpstart the effort, we could ask the creators of Storm World to allow their loot to be ported to this mod.

Thoughts?

Have you played with Hellions Blackmarket mod?

Imo, excellent lootpack mod. Unique items. Fun items. Realistic items (aka no lolipops).

Sure, you can include the Reliquary from the Children of Storm mod. Although a lot of them are dependent on the background unitstat library, so you may have to re-tweak quite a few unless you want to include that. Also, some of the Reliquary items use models that are on the do-not-redistribute list.

Ok, I'll give it a try. I'm sure it's a great mod.

But I was thinking of a "crowd source" type effort. Just think of the potential variety and quantity of items if all the active LH users contributed a few ideas each.

And with 1.6 and a new DLC around the corner, there is bound to be a renewed interest in the game.

End of Borg999's quote

I would be hesitant to install a crowd-sourced lootpack mod. I think it would be very difficult to have a consistent balance across all the items.

Honestly, if Hellions is up for it, I'd recommend items for him to add....perhaps to his Blackmarket mod....or perhaps to another...just to bottleneck the balance considerations. I through Hellions name out as an example because I consider the items he's created so far to be decently balanced.
