Calebthorn Deleting units!!

I discovered a pretty bad bug today while playing one of my custom factions.

 

When I charged and took over the Dead's capital city Calebthornsomething, my Umberdroth kept on vanishing...

 

I rage reloaded because I was sure it survived.

Then attacked and took it over, my umberdroth vanished again.

 

Reloaded, and it vanished everytime I attempt to take over Calebthorn.

 

Then on fifth try.... I took the umberdroth out of my army and attacked Calebthorn, took it. My umberdroth didn't vanish, with me being satasified for once, and told umberdroth to enter the city, poof, it vanished!

 

Has anyone run into the bug too? I have a save ready to upload if needed.

Isn't this the same old 'tamed units disappear when entering a city' bug? Sounds exactly like it....

Is your umberdroth unit "greyed" in the unit circle in your stack?  If so, then it would have happened with any city (not specific to The Dead's capital.)

On the plus side, the captured city now has an Umberdroth as a defender unit...

Yes my umberdroth is greyed out and it was greyed out when I tamed it for the first time.

This issue is known discussed extensively here:

For now, just keep greyed out tamed creatures away from towns, and you should be fine. If you tame monsters from wandering packs, or creatures that are spawned by quest triggers (for example the spiders in that "remove the cap something" -quest), they should work just fine anywhere and even display their icon on the left side of the screen if separated as an army of their own.
