Do you mean more race types like the new Undead faction?
Because if so, I totally agree, I would love a faction that say, can't use X magic groups, but has X technologies/units/buildings or some completely new or unique mechanic to make up for it.
Maybe one that can't equip items, and gets nothing but unique monsters as troops?
No, I mean hero classes. Like the Warrior, Defender, Mage, etc. Give me a more fleshed-out summoner class or a shape-shifting druid that can take bear form and wolf form.
Stuff like that.

I think he means classes. I agree with that. Some shapeshifter abilities I think would be cool. They wouldnt require much mana if anything and as you level gaining creature abilities would be cool. I think having a warrior with magical weapon imbues would also be nice to see.
Or paladins, or bards, or a class that assumes role of an elemental being.
Something new. Maybe a Scout? Basically a class that cannot be seen, but has very low attack. Makes outposts, sees far, moves well.
Stuff like that...
Bards are cool but, at least how they are generally implemented in other games, the general has the same abilities. There could be another branch down the line. Remember the classes are pretty generic instead of having specific classes from other games giving a branch or two to existing classes .
I personally like the idea of a paladin. Death Knights are also my favorite class in most games. I'd say combine both of these plus the elemental imbued warrior that I suggested earlier could create a Arcane Warrior class. There could be a life/death branch, depending on if you are empire or kingdom, and an elemental branch. Pardon me if there is a mod for this already it's been a while since I looked through the mods.
Scouts would probably be a fair amount of work considering the stealth mechanic would have to be hard coded, well maybe. Also, it would have to be balanced so the AI could use them and it doesn't make the player able to attack without a counter. But, then again I think XCOM handled stealth in an TBS pretty well. In FE I could see it as 1 turn invis, a 5 turn CD and attack from stealth is a guaranteed crit.
There's no need to work on extra classes when there is so much other stuff that needs attention like ai performance. Besides most of those classes you want are just a mix of what you already have. The warrior with healing ability from life magic is your paladin, your beastmaster selection is your druid, along with earth elements, it's the perfect combo. Just use your OWN imaginaton, instead of the devs they have other things to do. More important things :_)
Nothing wrong with tossing out ideas Willie. These ideas could also be modded in by other members of the community. Also, the AI programmer is not likely the guy doing the class designs. Well I don't know for sure but generally they are separate people handling separate parts of the game.
if memory serves i thought somebody created a few new classes. but there was something with the interface that presented some issues. You had to scroll down or something like that and there wasn't anything that indicated that there were more options to scroll down too. I forget the specifics. But they did create new classes and they worked perfectly fine if i'm not mistaken (outside of the UI confusion).
You might want to look it up on either the steam workshop or nexusmods and see if you can find it.
