Are crossbows armor piercing?

they already are - shields making the difference - leather armour + tower shield gives fair damage absorption
crossbows do more damage than bows? I somehow got the impression that bows outdamaged the crossbow in FE:LH <_<
some of the last bows have higher damage than the crossbows and all the bows lose less inititive than the crossbows.

Put this file into your mods folder. Go nuts. (66% armor pierce, you can edit the file if you want to tweak the stats a bit)
You'll also want to make sure you have "Use Mods" turned on in the menus if you want to use sjaminei's change.
In FE:LH, the only advantage crossbow have is they can pierce multiple units in a row with their special attack, but their normal attack is inferior to same tier bows.
I'd think giving them armor piercing, but more initiative penalties, would be a better gameplay distinction and more realistic.
(a trained archers can pulls arrows from quiver to fire again in 5-10 seconds, I'd guess. To re-load a cross bow, it must be put down, bow pulled back, locked, then the crossbow raised again and aimed. Easily adds another 5-10 seconds, I'd think)
@Davrovana feel free to tweak around with my mod file. It should be easy to mess all stats up to whatever floats your boat. (I've "obsoleted" the old bows, giving you complete freedom to tweak the "new" xbows to whatever stats you want without touching the "vanilla game" at all. (meaning that if you delete this file, it will return to default))
If you think it works better than the core game, post it, and hopefully Stardock will listen to it next patch ![]()
