Love the game, but WHAT IS UP WITH INCLUDING A SEASONABLE TIMER?????

Ellemental Fallen Enchantress Legionary Heroes

Love the game, but: what is up with including a Seasonal timer????? I have tried playing this game and have yet been able to finish 1 game without the seasonal timer kicking in and ending the game before I get even 4th of the way through it.  Is there someway to disable the seasonal timer countdown or someway to increase the time allotment?  If this game was playable without a timer, I would give it a 10 out of a 10. But with the timer, I give it a 5 out of a 10. As it stands now with the timer, the game is un-finishable and is not really worth playing.  At lease with Elemental with all it's crashing, you could re-start where you left off and finish a single game if you saved it before crashing. -

I think you mean the autoturn thing?   go to options and turn it off...

Could you be more specific?  You mean the game is ending on you?  What are your victory conditions?  Strange.

If you mean the turn limit, that is moddable.  You should be able to change it in Elemental Defs.

Look for this line (line 314) in the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FE Legendary Heroes\data\English\ElementalDefs.xml

<!-- ** turn limit, and game pacing effect on it ** -->

<TurnLimit>800</TurnLimit>

Change the 800 turn limit to whatever you want.

Good advice Murteas. I didn't even know this could become an issue before Dragonspectrum wrote about.

Sorry if it's obvious, but where can I see on what turn I'm playing? I think I saw some kind of date somewhere in-game, but at first glance it didn't feel as a turn-counter. But perhaps it was?

If you mouse over the current season (or in the Immersion Mod, Month/Week) it will show you what turn it is.

There is a limit on how many turns can be played?

Why would that be in the game anyway?

Having the highest score on the last turn is one way to change the game.  There is a bar on the victory screen that shows you how many turns you have left.

Having the highest score on the turn limit gave you 0 finishing points in the ranking afterwards the last time i tried it and I was controlling the whole huge map with only 1 city not in my possession. I had a power rating of 20.000  ...  I was and still am pretty disapointed.

Thanks StevenAus.

Next game will have that turned off in options as Smeagolheart writes. I don't like to feel stressed by time-limits in games, that's why I love turn-based.

Turn limit is adjusted by "Pacing" selection. This is also defined in elementaldefs.xml

I didn't realize there was a turn limit. Is the only way to change it by modding, or is there an option somewhere in-game?

I believe "pacing" changes other things in addition to the games turn limit.   If that is the case then it would be better to have the games turn length as an option to set when you are beginning a game.

I tried setting the turn limit in the xml to 9999 but it didn't change when I tested it in game, anyone know why?

Did you start a new game?  You can't change an already started game.  You have to start a new one to see the change take effect.

If you were overwriting elementaldefs.xml, it doesn't always mod as easily as other files. Heavenfall has a post on this somewhere. I have tried to change elemental defs and they don't take (I tried forcing quest spawn).

Also, the turn limit is not a TURN LIMIT. you may continue to play after you have reached the turn limit, your score is just no longer calculated at that point though.

And well just who cares about that score anyways. It is not even recorded by anything...
