[Forum BUG] "Did you know that your Internet Explorer is out of date?"

Not sure where to put this, but this is a support forum so I'll put it here.

Sometimes when I come to these forums or go to pages on these forums I get a semi translucent white screen with the message:

"Did you know that your Internet Explorer is out of date?"

Except I'm running the latest version of IE10 and have auto-update activated. So any ideas how to fix this please? It's not a huge problem, more of an irritant, but it would be helpful if I could stop it from happening. Thanks.

Not sure why you're getting that, maybe something to do with extensions on your browser...something which would make it "anonymous" or disguise it?

I get it as I'm on IE9 ....because 10 screwed my FSX functioning....which is most sensible since both proggies are from MS.

Numnuts.

Or it could be a Trojan or Malware infection, you never know.

I'm not running any programs like that to my knowledge.

I'll run a virus and malware scan and check.

Thanks everyone. Will try some things and report back.

If you don't already, you might try disabling pop-ups and blocking third party cookies. Sounds more like an advertisement.

I'm using IE8 and never have seen that message.

I have had it for quite awhile now and have tried the above and many other things. I had it start on IE9 so finally updated to IE 10 and still have the popup. Can assure you I have no malware or infections.

Here is the strange thing. I can go to as many sites as I wish with no popup except for the forums here at wincustomize. After it pops up I check the forum page source code and you can see the very long lines of code that were inserted. As I said it only happens on SD forums not any other forums or pages. So I have switched to using Chrome which isn't a solution but just getting rid of the pop up. I did report this about 2 or 3 months ago but never received a reply and wasn't worth worrying about as it didn't effect anything else.
