Ironman Mode

Can we please have this option added to the game for those of us that want to make sure that there is no temptation to reload after a devastating loss.

edit: Removed stray it :D

Yes PLEASE!!!!!

I've kind of made my own Ironman mode using AutoHotKey.  The first thing I did was turn off the autosave.  Then I set up an AutoHotKey script to disable the quick-save keys, and to automatically quick-save every 60 seconds.

It's not a perfect solution, and you still have to resist manually saving, but it's better than nothing!  :)

I really really hope the devs add a true Ironman mode!

hm yeah i guess it would be a nice little additon and probably not super hard to implement. i think i'd use it if it were available.

I think this is a good idea as well. Sometimes the temptation to reload can be hard to resist.  O:)

agreed!  Great idea :D

I'm just curious how it would be implemented practically.

For example, you do need to be able to save since you can't play an FE game in 1 sitting (generally).

ironman modes typically remove the "save" from the menu and replace it with a "save & exit". they usually also overwrite the single save automatically (for example after every action you take), so if the game crashes, you can restart close to the point where it crashed.

I never ever reload. Its like smoking. Just stop. Tell yourself that there is NO reload. Never negotiate with yourself (oh, I had such bad luck, just one reload).

Only reasons for reload:

1. Game crashes

2. Serious misclick (your kid hits end-turn while you are opening a beer)
