If can safely cross another factions territory, default path could do so.

Several times there has been two or three squares of another faction's outpost, along a road I was traveling on. I knew my current move on horseback would carry me thru that and out the other side, so I'd click where I wanted to go.

Oops - takes me off the road, into the middle of the bushes. Maybe even next to a deadly roving monster. Not nice.

Here's the most annoying variant of this: A two square section of road with an opponent's outpost, in between two of my cities. On previous turn I had traveled into the first of the two squares. Only one opponent road square between me and my territory. I click past that.

Oops - since I was adjacent to non-opponent space, the logic finds a really, really long path that avoids stepping on any opponent territory (the space I am on doesn't count, since I am leaving it). The odds that this would ever be what I intended: zero.
