The Lost Eye Quest - What now?

Can anyone help with this... I just completed The Lost Eye quest in LH 1.1 and received a dragon eye. Can I do anything with this eye? It sits in my inventory and cannot be equipped or sold - so what's it for?

it is one of the three dragon statue quests, the second involves wind and woe, the third uses the two dragon eyes and you fight several dragons at the same time and if you win you gain a single dragon.
