Missing Pariden equipment (from traits)

Hi

I just created a warlock with Pariden as Kingdom and the description says I get the 4 elemental books with my Hero, but they are nowhere to be found. Do I need to do something first or do I need to choose some elemental skills when creating a Sovereign to be able to use those skills ?

I believe that you can purchase spellbooks via the Shop when near a city, tehy're called the Tome of the Mountain, Tome of the Wind etc... the spellbooks when read give you level one in whatever element.   You need to research the Spellbooks tech first to unlock them.

Someone will no doubt correct me if i'm wrong.

there are several steps to this to get it to work.

1) faction creation, you need to have the correct trait when creating your kingdom/empire. I believe it is called decalon. This gives you access to the research tech in game.

2) you need to research the tech to grant access to the books in store.

3) each book costs 90 gold.

4 give the book to the hero you want then "use" the book to read it and grant the apprentice trait. I'm not sure if the legendary heroes skill system works with henchmen using the books atm.

Enjoy.

Right on all points, Glowing Ember. It was suggested quite some time ago (back in FE late-beta) that the tooltips for spellbooks and Decalon be buffed up to include references to one another, so the process was clearer. Never happened.

And no, henchmen can't use books.

That is incorrect, at least as of my last game. Henchmen can use the Decalon spellbooks, and make excellent mages with proper training. If I don't play with Decalon as a starting trait, I typically add in a custom AI to shop with.

Well, that's new. Unless I missed it since I've given up playing with henchmen for a while. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll have to give them another try.
