Actually, its MIDWEEK madness, not weekend. The sale ends Thursday. HURRY! I'm finally getting it. (I've only had Trinity until this).
I just bought it with an hour left according to the timer it showed 
I had played the older sins of a solar empire pre expansion long ago on an older pc and I got a copy from a friend.
But with the sale going on I decided to give it a go and buy a copy for myself since I have a new gaming pc. I've been playing Eve Online since 2007 and Also really enjoy the X3 series. So I do enjoy the space based games.
I've never been much of a RTS player, never got into starcraft/warcraft 3 types although I did play Age of Empires back in 1999 
So this will be a new experience. Once I learn how things work I hope to give the multiplayer a try. just hope it's not like other rts in the past where it's zerg2win. I've never been the type that likes multiplayer games that reward the person who can rush the fastest getting the win and hope this one allows a bit more strategic play, (yes im a fan of chess hehe)
