Reloading games is buggy, doing so repeatedly eventually crashes the game

The title is pretty straight forward. I've encountered some really funky bugs just reloading my games. In one example, I had an arcane monolith that had just been destroyed by a wolf pack and when I reloaded the wolves were on the tile, but it wasn't destroyed.

But the big one seems to be data that doesn't appear to be clearing properly, probably related to what happened in the first example. The more you load your game without fully restarting your game, performance and graphic quality continually degrade. First thing I notice is water disappearing, then movement animations intermittently disappear. Eventually the game starts slowing down a bunch and eventually crashes.

But why reload your game so often? Well for me, It's trying to get good/better randomized loot. I generally aim for nice weapons or permanent stat upgrades, and occasionally beast collars which can be very OP depending on what you use them on. It doesn't take many +1armor books to get a hefty advantage in the game, though it would take absolutely forever to get those every time ^_^

Yeah, if you reload, you can also "undo" being attacked, etc., etc.

Well known issue, and sometimes it irks me too.

Not clearing memory has long been an issue with WoM/FE and now LH.  Ctrl+N is a nifty feature if you have a sucktacular start, but do it enough times and the game will crash and/or become increasingly buggy because there seems to be variables in memory that WoM/FE/LH doesn't clear when starting a new game or loading a game.  I generally exit out entirely now.  :/

I've found that the memory load is so high, I never reload from within the game. I always quit, then do it. Haven't lost anything, since.

I find this issue irksome as well. I hope it's getting some development attention, although I imagine it's not a quick fix or they would have done it by now.

Are you by any chance reloading from an autosave? I normally load from saves I made manually and don't have any issues. However on the occasion of a crash or rage quit, loading an autosave does result in some strange results. Units shifted one tile and the like.

I've never known a Stardock game that you could reliably load from a save within a game.  I'm not sure they know how to program that correctly.  I always exit out first before loading from a save.  And yes, I know that even those games are sometimes still corrupted.
