Couple of Questions

Sorry if these questions been discussed at length prior.

Domain boundry -  Why are pioneers and armies not prevented from crossing domain boundries?  It seems to me without a treaty (I believe the trade treaty allows this action) this should not be allow without causing an option for war or request to move the unit out of the land.

Ranged Weapons - Is there an actual grid range to short/long bows and crossbows?  My observations are that bows firing range covers the entire battlefield.

Tactical Battlefields - Is there a plan to implement terrain effects?   Tree +% to defense for example.

Thanks.

You can walk into an enemy territory and vice versa no problem. However, the AI can say to you, "Get off my land or there will be war"

You can do the same to them.

Ranged weapons can hit anywhere.

As of now, I do not think they are planning to have terrain effects

Just the way Stardock wanted it. It's been that way since as far back as early beta. I find the spamming across borders very annoying, personally.

No range. The primary difference between bows lies in their damage range. All can reach across the field.

I know this has been discussed some time back, but it hasn't happened yet. On the other hand, group attacks were hardly discussed, and suddenly, there they were. So don't give up hope. Many of us would love it.

I find the pioneer spamming across borders annoying too.  I also wonder about the mechanic that allows for resources to be moved from an outpost to a city that cross domain borders too.  It seems like there should need to be an unimpeded route for the goods to move.  So crossing a non-friendly domain's border should prevent the resources from reaching the parent city.

OK.  I guess I was just expecting there to be a range difference too on bows.  Something like short bow is less powerful in damage and has a shorter range than a longbow.

There used to be range brackets on bows, but these have been removed (not sure if this happened in E:FE or just recently, need to play the latest verson of E:FE).  Not really sure why, as I enjoyed the distinction between shortbows and longbows range wise.  Shortbows do cause less damage than longbows, and I believe have a higher penalty to accuracy, depending on the shortbow in question.

I'm guessing this could be modded back in, as throwing knives have range restrictions, but that would most likely be up to the modders at this point, and of course you downloading said mod when it is released, and placing it in your mods folder with mods enabled to see the 'range restricted' bows.

Sit tight, I'm fairly certain we will see a few weapons mods after release.  So stay tuned!

It can be modded in, but I would advise against it, because the AI can't handle it. Well, at least it couldn't in FE. Don't know if that changed in LH.
