[0.90 Campaign] Empire factions have some strange champions

in the campaign, I encountered several "champions" of empire factions that i think were not intended to be champions. Kraxis had a "Karavox Honorguard" who behaved like a champ (didn't get killed but got a weakness/wound on the after battle victory screen); likewise, Magner had a Pioneer ( 3 figure unit) that was also flagged as a champion (was a bit hilarious - a 3 figure champion Pioneer with battle axes and  horses) and resoln had an "elder cyndrum demon" (i think) that also functioned as a champion; this one had broken visualy since the AI put it on a horse and the model of that unit didn't really work with a horse.

i guess those guys were all bonus starting units of those factions and somehow got flagged as champions instead of regular units. let me know if you need a save to reproduce - i made a separate save for the 0/0/0 yield Magnar capital; Kraxis and Resoln are already dead at this point, but Magnar is still alive, so the funny champion pioneer should still be around in that save game (probably immobilzed in one of the cities i haven't conquered yet)

Is this the Pioneer you mentioned?  I see it my game but it's a regular hero, not a 3 figure unit.  At least the name should be changed.

Edited to strike out the incorrect comment.  It is a 3 figure unit.

The code for spawning a normal unit and a champion are different. If you use the code for champions on a normal unit they will become a champion, this is probably what happened here.

I just saw an army consisting of the "Pioneer" champion plus a real pioneer unit.  Amusingly enough, when I fought them, when I moused over BOTH units in the tactical map, it showed the info card (in the lower right corner) for the Pioneer champion.

that's a bug in the campaign specifically, which was only just added with the last patch. there's no evidence that this also happens in the regular sandbox game.

There were 2 Craul Gravehands in my campaign, both in the same army. Bug or plot point?

Yeah, that bug is fixed in 0.92.  And yes, it only happens in the scenario.

the Pioneer I fought was a mage on a Warg, way more awesome than your warrior horse one ;) ;)

This bug is also present with any Altar henchmen you train that share the same starting name.  In FE, this used to be fixed by renaming the units in question, but as of .85 this was no longer the case.  Haven't tested in recent patches.

HAHAHAH, so when we found this bug and fixed it we noted that it could have happened to one of 5 of 6 units... and I said to Derek "man I would have loved to see the Crow Demon all decked out". So thanks for that! ;)  it's all fixed now at least
