How do you get alternate mounts?

I'm playing a custom race and gave them the spider training trait.   I really want to have my sovereign on a spider mount, but once I loaded the game I don't see any buildings or anything that give spider mounts.  I've seen champions riding spiders so I thought it would be possible.

 

I'm sorry if this is obvious, but I couldn't find anything on it in the search.

There is no option to get your champions alternate mounts through faction traits or city improvements. Some champions simply start with their unique mounts when you hire them and you can get alternate mounts for yourself as quest rewards.
