I don't like being able to see what other Factions are building.

As seen here:

I just don't like being able to see it. It feels like cheating! Please remove it.

I would prefer the info be displayed only when certain treaties are in effect.  Say, alliance and //or NAP.  Other wise... fog of war

Does not show that info while playing in cloth map only mode.

+1 to this, with the addition that you should also be able to see if you have a unit adjacent, or within sight range possibly. As I tend to play cloth map, I hadn't seen this as an issue until this post. Definitely breaks immersion.

Just put duct tape over your screen where the enemy cities are, problem solved.

Do I have to figure out all these easy problems for you? Egads.

Does duct tape stick to white out streaks? Ever think of that GENIUS?

I have to agree with the issue of being able to see the factions research. I also like the idea of it should only be shown if your in an alliance perhaps. If anything...if you not in alliance maybe only show what area they are researching but not the specific research. So in like you have people around their city...you can see they are conducting some sort of "Magic" research...but do not know exactly what it is.

Just another way to do it.

If you have trade routes with them or an alliance, it makes sense to know what they are building. I suppose an open border agreement with actual visual range on a unit would also be logical. Otherwise, you should not be able to see what another faction's cities are making.

I'd say turn off enemy cities gui if they are not within your fog or war. If you have a carvan there the fog is lifted anyway so you can see what is going on with that city.

I always felt it should be investment in a different type of tech for information gathering.  I really shouldn't be able to know every little thing about an opposing stack of units aside from their Threat level without some additional aid.

Yes, Bernie has good idea, covert branch of the game is nil right now.  Way cool idea!

Oh, duct tape?  Only allowed with male sovereigns... (JK)
