[0.85][bug] Can choose traits halfway up trait tree at level up

So I started a new game with Capitar as Carrodus (possessor of the Tactician I trait), and almost immediately noticed something odd when I chose, on a whim, to make him into a Commander.

I shouldn't be able to choose the Tactician II and III traits without taking all the accuracy bonuses first, should I?

Not sure if bug or WAI, but if it *is* WAI, I don't think it should be. I could theoretically at this point take the other two Tactician traits, Battle Cry, Accuracy I, and Command, and then just ignore the rest of that path after taking everything of value, then head off to the pub. Surely not!

I think this is an unavoidable, therefore intended, consequence of how prereqs work in the skill tree. I've seen this with recruited champions and I consider it a perk. I would actually like to see more abilities for sovereign creation that utilized this "feature".

i guess it's intended. the tactician I commander thing has been posted a few tims. i think there was no dev response, so i guess it's either low priority or intended. battle cry at level 5 seemed a bit odd and quite powerful combined with the 3 passive initiative from the prereq tactician perks, but i don't think it's too overpowered.

I can create a fix for this...it is a simple, require a pre-requisite to the start of the tree chain. Then this will force later elements not to be researched unless you have the tree start. But I would agree with your assessment that it is a low priority item.
