So it was just brought to my attention that your militia will only fight once. Ever. If your city gets attacked by multiple armies, your militia will only fight in the first battle, and then are never seen again. Meaning, if you have an awesomely defended castle, and an enemy decides to attack it with two weak armies, you'll easily crush the first one, and probably take no casualties, but then for some reason, the militia simply don't appear, so the enemy just take the city with their next weak army.
I really hope this is a glitch, and not a purposefully implemented mechanic, because I find it a bit retarded that surviving militia members just leave and take a nap for the rest of the game after their first fight.
This wasn't a problem before the latest patch, and please fix it, because its pretty crippling, and completely unrealistic.
Thanks
yep.
It's been brought up as a 'bug' ? 'design flaw'? 'oops'? already...and has been around since beta FE.
Imo, each turn these militia units should be reset. Their health and existance tracked over the coarse of the turn.
Example: You have 3 milita. You are attacked. You lose 1 milita and the second is at half health when you defeat the assailant. You are attacked again in the same turn. You have 1 militia at full health and 1 miltia at half health. You defeat the assailant. Next turn you are attacked again. You have 3 militia.
Likewise, the AI cities should not receive full militia defense every attack you perform, even when those attacks are within the same turn. It should follow the same logic and propsal as outlined above so that the mechanic is consistant for both player and AI alike.
As it currently is, it really gives the player the impression that the AI is cheating.
is Parrotmath up to the challenge???
(he could merge this fix in with his armor-militia mod)
