Disable Charms Bar not working
Disable charms bar setting is not working. When I swipe the trackpad from the right edge inward (from right to left) the charms bar appears. I have tried rebooting twice.

I found the mouse setting to disable this - obviously didn't realize I could disable it when I posted originally.
Curious - are you saying this 'mouse setting' to disable the charms pop-up was IN Start8? I asked that the other day, not sure I got any replies. and it'd be the main (only?) reason I'd install this utility - on my new Lenovo off my external keyboard, the charms popping up and often dropping me out of desktop is driving me nuts!;-) Any insight most appreciated.
The settings I referred to are Windows 8 mouse settings buried way down in Control Panel > Ease of Access > Change how your mouse works > Mouse Settings > Device Settings > Settings > "Enable Edge Swipes".
Darn you had me hoping, but that's just a long way around to get to the same Synaptics Clickpad 8.1 settings tree I was at several times before -- and that does NOT, from any place I can find, have a checkmark for 'enabling' or disabling Edge Swipes, on my Lenovo Z580. Thanks for trying but arrgh!!!
Maybe you could try a different device driver ?
BTW, I tried the Registry hack for disabling the swipe to Charms bar on the Lenovo Website tonight -
Maybe regedit requires a reboot after using it, so far so bad;-/
