After taming Ascian in battle, the victory screen called him a pack drake:
If you tamed Ascian in battle, he should be on the left side of the screen, you just needed to scroll down.
Well seeing that there are no other people in the right group (noone died or was wounded there).
The group would have consisted only of Ascian and not a pack drake
Right, there was no pack drake in the battle.
It's possible Ascian joined a pack drake unit, but lost the drakes before this battle? I've seen Ascian join up with Sydicate units while roaming.
I have no idea. All I know was that when I found him he was alone.
No, I've found this a lot ... it seems when you tame the only unit in the stack, it puts whatever the last critter was you killed over there under the defeated side. It doesn't seem to know what to do with itself when there's no units actually defeated.
Just noticed this is still happening in .87. Playing as Kulan, I killed a Butcherman. A couple of turns later he tamed a bear cub that was by itself, and the victory screen had "Butcherman" on the defeated side.
This happens regularly when taming the only unit in the enemy army.
