Custom race not deleting

from Elemental Forums


Hi,

I recently decided to create a custom empire and found them to be unsatisfactory. So I went into mydocuments/mygames/legendaryheroes/race and deleted the file for the kingdom. I then rebooted the game to find the race had reappeared in the game. Quitting again, I found the file had returned to the directory.

I have tried several times to correct this issue and have even done a complete reinstall. with no results I have come here.

You can delete a character you made by right clicking the portrait but I think you mean custom faction. I also have problems deleting these. Occasionally they have remained deleted for me but it's rare. What I started doing was just creating a new faction using the same name. The old one with that name gets overwritten.

Yeah, I'm trying to delete the race itself, the sov deleted no worries. Problem is that I don't want to have a random custom race floating there so deletion is preferable. Thanks for the possible solution though.

I've never had that problem.

Did you load a save where that race existed? Stuff like that is "baked" into the save files, so maybe it's recreating from there.

Nah, I deleted all the saves. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the steam cloud restoring the files?

That's possible, I turned cloud syncing off pretty much right after installing the game.

Ok that's great! Unfortunately the game is now just hanging at the bootup loading screen and then not responding before crashing to desktop ..... -_-

 

EDIT: Fixed problem. The not responding bit was to do with steam cloud too. However, does this mean my achievements won't cross over computers?
