Resources - More would be better

Seeing how the Apiary now relieves unrest across your Kingdom, it occurred to me that the game could really benefit from even more unusual resources, as a way to make particular areas of the map matter.  Some could benefit the entire kingdom, some the one city, and some could benefit the city only if it were of the right type (conclave, etc.).  Furthermore, some could be revealed only by circumstances (the old technological prerequisite, but also maybe as the reward for a quest, a map showing the location of a resource... or as the reward for winning some battle, or taking over some lair).

With all the attributes and resistances in the game, the possibilities are endless -- which could make for a highly varied list, only a few of which showed up in any given game.

Unique resources inside Wildlands that unlock once you clear it would be cool, though the Hearts from the big defenders in some of them sort of fulfills the same role.

True, although my goal had been more to make particular locations more unique.  Especially when you play a large map and have a lot of cities, they can come to seem pretty generic.  And if you lose one, hey, now I have 14 cities instead of 15, no biggie.  But any time that city has something unique, it makes that location matter.

Definately agree with your point here.

Another idea e.g. would be to allow cities at the side of the ocean to build fish harbours or something along those lines. Just to make the ocean fulfill a purpose.

Agree totally.

No reason a couple of unique resources cant be thrown in the game, id love to see something useful in swamps, coasts and forests.

Also the ancient temple could use a boost, a mid game upgrade that increases its research bonus to 2 or 3.
