[.75] Faction isolated on disconnected land

I have been playing more than a 100 turn without meeting Altar (although that did not prevent them to declare war to almost any all the other factions. When I achieved exploring the map I noticed they were nowhere to be seen.

As you can see on the map above, there's a huge area of sea under FoW in the NE part and I surmise that the guys are there isolated and have been doing pretty well since they have a pretty high score.

I'm going to use some spells to open a path through the sea (to allow them to wage war ;) ), but is this by design or a  random map generator bug ?

Are you sure it's not connected? I see what looks like a couple unexplored tiles on the NE edges that could be very narrow land bridges, one on the corner near the wildland, the other on that peninsula. I've seen land bridges as narrow as one tile though, so you really have to see the water before determining if it's coast or not. They could be blocked in by a strong lair. Hard to tell on such a small image. If they are on an island though then that's definitely a bug.

It was times like this that made the old control-U cheat (to reveal the whole map) valuable.

Try going to your Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\FE Legendary Heroes directory, find LegendaryHeroes.exe, and send it to the desktop to make a shortcut.  Open the properties of that shortcut, find "target", and change it so that it looks like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FE Legendary Heroes\LegendaryHeroes.exe" -cheat

That is, add the -cheat outside the final quote.

Now, start the game with that shortcut.  When you load your saved game you should be able to hit control-U to reveal the entire map. Warning, on large maps it might take a while to work.

Ah thanks for the cheat Publius.

But meanwhile I went Columbus all the way to their continent (or I should rather say "Moses all the way"). And yes the guys are there on their little island a few tiles from my furthermost coast on the NE.

I don't think it's intended that the map should be generated that way, unless the developers changed it from FE.  At least I remember reporting a similar problem in the FE beta and getting a response that it was fixed.

Haha it wasn't like Columbus to discover the new continent but rather Pizarro: the Altars had no iron in their domain and no horses on their continent, but huge armies of leather-clad bowmen, quite funny in the endgame where most everyone is relying on heavily armored knights.

I uploaded a savegame without my magically raised bridge and here's the full map thanks to the cheat suggested by Publius. Note that what look like a small tip of hearth on the extreme NW of the map is actually another small island albeit a few tiles wide only.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FE Legendary Heroes\LegendaryHeroes.exe" -cheat
End of Publius's quote

Since this uses steam you can just select properties in steam (rightclick on the game select properties) go to set launch options and type in -cheat and it will accomplish the same effect.

Thanks, being a Steam newbie I didn't know that.
