[Feature Request] Allow the AI to design their own troops

SMAC, MOO, MOO2 to name some games with build your own combat units.  These games the AI builds their own unit types and is not horrible at it.  Why can't the AI build their own units in FE or LH?

They pretty much already do. I mean there aren't that many options, they build "preset" units but they use the best weapons or armor. How much more could they do?

You can also design your own units and when you play against the AI against that faction, the AI will use your designed units.

Still dislike this very much. I build units that are meant to work in cohort with other units. 'Glass Cannon' style. AI does not know this and will just build 'Glass' part. Wrecks games.

Imo, there should be a 'check' chart in the menu so that before you start a game you can choose what units are to be made available for the AI to use. (minus the default units of course....gotta leave AI with something)

This can be extended into the steam cloud aswell (as much as I hate steam) whereas a player can connect and choose units from whoever uploads unit designs to the cloud. Obviously there will be trolls designing crap units and uploading them too, so you'd need a 'check' chart to filter through the options.

Same approach should be done for user created sovereigns and factions.

If this were done.....it would be a definate 'wow' factor, even with the steam intergration....I would be one step closer to converting to using steam IF steam also changed there EULA to allow for game resales and manual update options and complete game disconnect...where you don't need to be in steam to load a steam game),

Let players build ARMIES, so the AI can copy the armies players build.

This would help immensely, I design units for the question of "what does this stack do" and when I need a new "stack function", i design a new set of troops.

I normally have the same builds in every effing game. Warg Rider, Horse Rider, Mage Version, Archer Version. Then, the AI builds a stack of 4 archers, 1 mage and 1 interceptor (a dodge/defense tank), and gives the wrong set of upgrades and army designs out of the units.
