Is it possible to get the map to stay put?

I love the ability we have when looking at the map to be able to scroll in and out and use the 3rd mouse button to enable full rotation of the map.  However, is it possible that it could stay in the spot I leave is so that I could play the game at a straight on angle instead of slightly to the side as it immediately returns once I release button 3?

This is very minor, but it is a continual annoyance for someone like me who can be a little 'Monkish' when it comes to looking at things 'straight on'

 

Thanks for a fabulous improvement to the game--esp. w/ the hero system and the talent trees!  Love it!!

Not sure but there's options to turn off camera snap-back, and auto-centering, maybe those will make it work like you are asking.

Thank you Sanati! I've been wondering why I can't get the camera to rotate freely in strategic mode, and yet it works fine in Tactical, now I know it's the snapback effect! k1

On a side note to this if you press the number keys at the top like 1, 2, 3 it will set different default viewing points to play the game. Might find one you like and put your camera to a default position to your liking.
