I need an excuse to buy this expansion...(Resolved)

So I'm looking for a good excuse to give my wife, why I should buy this particular expansion to the game. If I can get a good excuse, then I will enjoy all the beta like all you folks who already have the game. If frogboy can give me a good reason to get the game (or anyone at stardock), then I definitely will and I will let you know which excuse worked... (I reserve the right not to use an excuse for obvious reasons).

"An expansion makes it bigger.  And bigger is always better."

If I could only own ONE game to play the rest of my LIFE....it would be F.E.L.H. :smitten:

"Now that I think about it, I could play World of Warcraft instead.  They've got pandas now."

I'm assuming she knows of WoW's reputation.

Best reason I can suggest is that you've already spent money on a decent game, and the expansion makes it significantly better. So your money goes further. If she's got a mind for finances (and mine certainly does), that just might work.

Because your mods are necessary and they ROCK! By obtaining this beta and following through, you're programming excellence ;) will be carried through the expansion....just in case any other mods need building. XD

Who knows what occupational oppertunies that'll line you up?

Why do you need an excuse? Just tell her you enjoy playing the game as a hobby and leave it at that. 20 bucks is nothing compared to golf clubs for 1000+ bucks or hockey equipment for ten times that.

I suspect the problem isn't financial, but time spent away from her--or from all other activities. I could be wrong, though.

Just say "Playing FE makes me feel happier.  LH is a better version of FE, and you like it when I'm in a better mood." =)

Make a deal>>>  In exchange for the expansion, offer her a coupon book that **you** have made.  Main rule is then when she redeems a coupon, you must act on it within 5 minutes (or immediately, if you are smart).  In the coupon book are: [[ (1) coupon for instant end to an argument, shelving for one week, and makeup SNUGGLING - not just sex.]]    [[ (2) Pillow fight to commence immediately (pausing game first is ok).]]  [[ (3) your undivided attention for 10 minutes.  This means you don't 'multi-task, you sit facing her, with your knees touching hers, and you make friendly (loving if you are  smart) eye contact with her while she talks WITH you.  You are fully present in the moment- with her.]]  [[ (4) reusable coupon for an immediate hug of at least 60 seconds duration.  Pausing game is ok first. ]] (5) any other coupons that relate to the special tings/events in your relationship. ]]  BTW, pausing the game means pausing it ASAP, not after 'just one more turn...

Show here a $60 dollar game that "you just need to have." Then tell her, or I guess I could just get this expansion for $20.

Inform her that the game has a shop where you can buy those unusual items that the neighbors can't possibly have.

I had to pay full price for this game, if you're one of the lucky ones that only have to pay half price then tell her you're actually SAVING $20.

You can buy two copies and get her to play with you.

I hear that only works with certain wives though.

What's WTB?

Well, I would say that the new weapon abilities make the tactical combat more interesting, definitely get more use out of the Underdog trait now.

But I guess that might make a wooshing noise as it sails over her head. :(

Alright, I've used up every excuse on the board here... one completely failed, good thing I'm not a bachelor for life. The top two were ElanaAhova the coupon book and Heavenfalls hobby analogy. But the thing that really work, was asking, "if I could get the game," (I have such a loving wife). Thanks for all the great excuses, now I can port over all of my mods over when the game is done, and I of course have new ideas.

Oh,  @ElanaAhova... now I have to do that coupon book (or a variation thereof)...
