I can't find a option to turn off the random events in the game. Anyone know of a way to mod them out, because I hate them?
Yes... the easiest way to mod them out is to remove the xml that has all the random events... the
corerandomevents.xml
I don't quite recommend that, you can instead go through the .xml and comment out <!-- the random events --> that you don't like, that way you still get some random events, but not any of the ones you find particularly annoying.
Great, but I am having a little trouble finding corerandomevents.xml. Could you point me in the right direction please?
I want to get rid of all the random events, so deleting it will do fine, thank you. 
EDIT: Okay I found it. I also found a option when setting up a new game were I can set random event frequency to "never"......silly me.
