[0.51] LH Bug List

Bugs

1) Disease that lowers health by -1 broken. Only health maximum affected, units had 21/20 health.

2) Forest/river tiles never have essence, Tile yields always low there, even when they are next to 2 resources. Why?

3) Deadly quest with demon Kainen in his tower broken. When he dies you get like 20exp and its just over, no message or rewards.

4) Blessed hammer is offered as a reward for deadly quest when you cleanse a tomb. It is a low level item though and found in some beginner lairs. An angelic longsword would be a more fitting reward.

5) In tactical combat the AI ignores resistances. Had cindercorpses casting their fire spell on the only troop I had with fire resistance.

6) AI does not select vulnerable targets if its already touching another unit.

7) Lv requirements on some items too high. Ignys axe is lv 15 and Druss lade lv 18. Ive never gotten a lv 15 hero when playing on a medium map, I conquer the entire map before reaching lv15.

8) AI killed all the monsters in the Imperium but didn't build a city there. Instead kept sending pioneers into my base to build on top of an air shard. Also Imperium is only a 4/4 tile and when you conquer it there is no message or reward.

9) Temple of essence says in its description that it gives -10 unrest per essence. However my city with 4 essence only got -15 from it. Maybe its only -5 per essence and it didn't update when I got oracle?

10) Imperium river either never counted as a river or turns into plains(still looks like a river) when Imperium city built. Fog of war has weird affect on Imperium walls, they disappear and reappear.

11) Pyre of man gives mediocre experience and mediocre land for completing wildland. Oh ya and a rusty gauntlet. On completion wildland looks stupid as plains has a bunch of magma rocks sticking out in weird spots.

12) Prismatic potion causes weird stuff to happen if you use it than auto calc. Renders you invincible permanently it seems but is plagued by bugs, like some battles ending with only half the enemies dead and you still alive.

Balance

1) Player needs access to a more diverse set of items. Either through quests giving more choices, some kind of artifact merchant or whatever. It seems like most games I always get the same ice spears, shadow daggers and blessed hammers. I keep hearing about all these rare artifacts but never see them.

2) Too many horses and wargs. It seems like very city has a horse and a warg place, In three games ive played Ive never had a shortage. In one game every unit I ever built was mounted, must have spent over a thousand horses.

3) Plague Event seems unbalanced. Cure plague is way to expensive considering you get exp for paying 50 gildar and a fun quest. It seems like they thought giving the player easy to kill enemies and a quest was somehow a bad thing?

4) Mid to late game champions seem very weak and useless. They really lack in basic traits like  spellmastery and lethal. They seem not only all around weak but all gimmick and no substance.

5) Elite units are too cheap. In a good fortress I easily produce a three trait mounted unit in full chainmail and with 2 artifacts in 1 turn. All those tiny production costs don't mean anything. Why build anything but mounted super troopers if you can do it in one turn from a super fortress that produces them at lv 5 with endurance and +20 accuracy. AI cant match this.

6) Swords/hammers seem a little underpowered. Counterstrike and bash is nice but not a match for the skills cleave or impale. Adding 25% counterstrike damage is especially not as good as 25% cleave bonus. All the weapon Master traits could use some love.

7) Rush is OP. Lets me cross the map and take out any target before they can cast or shoot. Also lets me set up brutal cleaves before enemy can move.

8) Damage on late game weapons and def on plate-mail is too high. Impossible to stop plate-mail units with anything but mauls or pikes. Doesn't matter if unit is encumbered becuase its a laughable -2/4 initiative penalty for like 30 def.

9) Encumbrance should be a % loss and affect dodge to stop quick heroes from just ignoring encumbrance penalties.

10) Pyre of Man is a terrible terrible caster in both terms of AI and stats. His fireball was thrown at a single wisp and failed to kill it, only dealing like half damage to it.

11) Counterstrike doesn't work on abilities like impale, doublestrike and cleave. Severely reducing the utility of counterstrike. For the sake of balance units should counter when targeted by skills.

12) Hurl Boulder is UP. Misses like 90% of the time and never does more than single digit damage. It really only makes it much easier to kill units that have it. Should probably be tied to units attack or something.

- Guardian statue and Guardian Idol are invisible on strategic view. They have sparkles around their invisible self. This bug dates back to FE. I thought it would have been fixed by now, maybe no one reported it.

- When player captures a wildland the area becomes Kingdom Green even when you're playing an Empire race. It should turn Empire dusk. Eg. Conquer wildland with Emperor Kraxis Army, all units Kraxis, no Kingdom units in group - Land converts to Kingdom lush Green. Not sure if intentional.

- When the tower upgrade to extend your borders is built it does not extend your vision which makes it a somewhat pointless upgrade with exception of the rare occasion when there is a resource just outside it's range. I would rather build more outposts and see my lands than to actually use the tower upgrade. Again not sure if design decision or a bug but I'll mention it anyway.

Edit: seems if you later load a game that had the upgrade built the vision range is also increased. Seems like the graphical glitch that doesn't update new borders and settings straight away.

If I may piggyback on this thread to post my own discoveries:

Shadows appearing during combat when overing the mouse on the side of the tactical battle. (V0.50)

Recruited a hero in the scrapyard as a custom faction but couldn't see it nor use it, but had an icon for it in the unit tab on the top left corner of the screen. (V0.50)

Killed the last city of a (custom) faction during a game but they were able to resettle another city a few turns later. (V0.51)

Trog Custom Sovereign Casting "Ironskin" in tactical combat although being in "Berserk mode". (V0.51)

Trog Custom Sovereign Casting "Giant Form" in tactical combat although being in "Berserk mode". (V0.51)

Waerloga (sorry if I didn't get his name right :p) dodges 3 attacks in a row from units with 184 accuracy (not sure if bug or if he is intended to dodge during the second round of combat). (V0.51)

Lady Irane with "Master Bruiser III" and "Brute" perks although following the path of the Mage and path of the Governor. No access to warrior path and picking up perks from that specialization. (V0.51)

A Thought to wrap things up: "Berseked" units flee when at low hp – Feels contradictory to what they would do.

- Trainer4 has Trainer2 as a prerequisite instead of Trainer3

- Governors Manor has <ArtDef>FarmersMarket

I think if the Sov still is in the game, and he has no cities, he gets to found a new capital.  Either that or some pioneers had already been produced and they were used.

Update:

Pyre of Man is a terrible terrible caster in both terms of AI and stats. His fireball was thrown at a single wisp and failed to kill it, only dealing like half damage to it.

Counterstrike doesn't work on abilities like impale, doublestrike and cleave. Severely reducing the utility of counterstrike. For the sake of balance units should counter when targeted by skills.

Oh and sure, everyone feel free to add to the list.

Two bugs I noticed.

I have not tested against multiple 4 space dragons but in the Master quest when I was close enough for a normal attack I was not considered close enough for a crushing blow (according to the game) against the multi space enemy for the master quest (I forget his name).

I eliminated an enemy faction and did not get the steam achievement.

Balance -

I know others have said this but I think the bonuses for surrounding an enemy are too high.  I was able to Win the Master quest with 4 hero's (level 7 to 14) A super Ogre (I captured the 2nd to last guy) and a couple trained units.  The main way I won was by summoning the skelton hoard and getting a huge swarm bonus by having a bunch of enemies around the master quest.  I think  the skeletons were even doing 20+ points of damage each.

One more bug.  If you take the starting items that allows your sovereign to have enchantments without upkeep costs they are allowed to summon creatures without mana maintenance as well.

Here's the one that's driving me buggy ... when you reload a quick save, there's a big chance that the units/cities menu on the left side of the screen will disappear.  The only way to restore it is to exit the game and then reload.

A bug that I have noticed is that if you cancel production on a building/improvement that requires Crystal, you do not get the crystal returned to you, even if you had accidently clicked the wrong improvement and cancelled within the same turn. I'm not sure if other resources are thrown into a black hole like crystals are, but still worth looking into.

Two more bugs that I have noticed:

1) Resoln building Tower of the Padars while it has already built it:

2) Receiving resources from captured cities /outpost while not possessing the technology:
