[Bug 0.51] AI Magnar Not Collecting Lost Library Goodie Hut

Here's AI Sov Magnar (with 2 of his units) sitting on a Lost Library:

Next turn he's moved off the Lost Library and the Lost Library is still there:

Now, I say to myself "Self, perhaps he did collect it and the map just hasn't updated", so next turn I moved my scout onto the Lost Library (it was still there on the map) and got the message 'only champs/sov can collect this goodie hut' (or however it's phrased -- I tried to screenshot it but it didn't take).  This tells me the Lost Lib wasn't collected, and that it's not a delayed map update (unless map updating is delayed by at least 2 turns...).

Is there some valid reason of which I'm unaware that Magnar can't/won't collect the Lost Lib tech?

It's not just Magnar, and it's not just the libraries. Several times now I've witnessed custom AI faction champs sitting on goodie huts/lairs, without clearing the square.

This will happen to you (the player that is) as well if you tell a hero to move to somewhere past the goodie hut and they just happen to end a turn on one. Seems like you only collect them if it's the end of your movement order, whether from a single turn move or a multi-turn trek.

Probably a combination of the above and the issue with the AI ignoring many if not most goodie huts and undefended lairs. Was supposed to be fixed in a patch a while back but I haven't seen any improvement.

Yea, they definitely ignore too many freebies, though in my current game they are doing a better job of defeating the spawns.

I did not know this, so thanks!  I always bee-line towards goodie huts whenever possible lol

Knowing the cause should make finding a solution easier.

If the AI intentionally targeted the goodie hut then it'd have been collected so this shows the AI is not targeting them -- even unguarded ones in their line of march.  So, the real fix should be 2 parts -- the main fix is target nearby goodie huts (especially unguarded ones) in or near the line of march, and the secondary fix is to collect when merely passing through.  The first fix would obviate the need for the second, but to be thorough...

But this would also mean that you would trigger quest huts when just passing through, which would not be wanted, since I think the goodie huts and quest huts use the same functionality ("notable locations").

Wouldn't be that hard to make them differ in that respect, they've already got different icons on the map as it is.
