[BUG] Fog of war only updates at your endpoint when you move

When you move in the strategic map, the fog of war only updates at your end destination. So if you move, say 10 spaces, the only area that will be uncovered is the area around the last tile you moved to.

This is true, if you move all at once.  If you move one space and pause, what happens?  And then continue your move one or two spaces...  not sure myself, will test.

I noticed this as well. I think it has always been like this. It is very frustrating.

It was like this in FE as well ... I agree it's frustrating.  I was hoping it would have been fixed in LH ... and maybe it will be.

Seems that if you walk through an area, perhaps you might actually look around you while doing so.  :)  Just sayin'...

Once you start walking I don't think you can stop anyway, so being able to see is a moot point.

^It doesn't even update the terrain. If you have enough movement you can walk far enough where you wont even have the area you traveled through explored, it will just be black. It's crap for exploring AI/neutral roads with high sight units, you have to move one tile at a time or you'll only have these interlocking squares of explored land instead of the strip you'd expect.

End of Stupidity10's quote

Yes, but don't you think you would at least know what the territory you walked through looked like?

Like Sanati said, it doesn't reveal the terrain you walked through AT ALL ... It's like you put on a blindfold and walked indiscriminately around ... kind of stupid in a world where there are hungry critters waiting to eat you at every turn.

Checked it out. If you move your unit/stack 1,2, or 3 (etc.) spaces at a a time, each time you 'end' the movement order (even if you have movement left) your unit will scan the area. You may then continue movement. its a pain, but then again, if you are in a new area, perhaps its a way of forcing players to go a bit slow,, and look, before zooming past something interesting.

It should be fixed IMO. FE/LH is already a fairly slow paced game by design, there are several little things like this which make the player baby/micromanage their units and cities more than they should have to which makes it even slower.

While it's true that most of the time you want to move only 1 square at a time, there are times when moving more squares at once would be fine if you weren't losing visibility as a result.

It's also true that this has always been the case, but that's no reason not to keep bugging them about it.  Squeaky wheel.

I've requested this be fixed in the past, as well.  I've also requested that any fog that's revealed during a turn stay revealed until the turn ends.  Nothing's going to change until you end the turn, so it doesn't make sense to instantly replace fog when you move out of an area.  I don't have a great memory.  I can't memorize everything as I move.

Agreed, the FOW has always been wonky.  Esp confusing when you run into a caravan on a road in the dark, you can pass through/over it but not end your turn there.
