Tips for playing Lady Irane?

What is the most optimized way to play Lady Irane? Played a game after 200 turns, it felt like I have achieved nothing and still very weak compare to Normal AI, still couldn't face strong monsters. I've tried at least 4-5 new games with Lady Irane and screwed up everytime, trying to master Lady Irane instead of making my own race. I know there's no correct way of playing her, but what are the build orders for Lady Irane? What do you build and not build? How often in turns do you expand towns? What research paths do people usually take with Lady Irane? When do I start training units? How many army groups should I have by how many turns? Do I need army on every single town to defend it? How can I take advantage of Lady Irane's perk? I'm still confused like what  I should achieve by 100 turns, 200 turns etc...Another question is what happens if you're food is 0 and and population stop growing? I was still able to train units with 0 food, don't get why.

You can settle near monsters and not worry about their aggression!  This is a huge, huge advantage.

Exploration and pioneers should be an early focus for you.  A particular "dirty trick" is to settle outposts near difficult foes such as Troll Packs and Dragons, just to force them to leave their home and wander the map.  This will make things more difficult for nearby AI's, but not for you!  Note: AI Lady Irane will do this... often, so don't feel too badly.

When you are at 0 food, to get growth again build more buildings that increase your food per grain.  Also, you can cast one of several spells (Gentle Rain - Water II + Air II being the best) if there is an essence enchantment spot on the particular city.

It's very simple get a BEASTLORD champion as soon as possible and then you will rule the world from then on. ;)

If you are running out of food, try promoting some cities to "Towns" when they reach size two.  There is a building that only Towns can build which will give more food to every city in your empire.
