In your appearances...does that mean the location you downloaded it to? If your OS is Win 7 it will be in your download folder. C:\user name\dowloads. In XP it is C:\documents and settings\user name\downloads (I think. Haven't used XP in awhile). If you know where the dock is and you're having a problem using it you will need to download and install ObjectDock, it is needed for the docks to run. If you have ObjectDock installed and want to know where the dock belongs do this. Navigate to C:\Program Files(x86)\Stardock\Objectdock then open the backgrounds folder. You put the dock here. Close out then right click on whatever dock you have on your screen, choose settings. The config window will open and you should see your dock on the left. Click on your deock, hit OK and you're done. Hope this helps.

  BTW - If you're running Windows 8 ignore all I said. I know nothing about Win 8.

Also, I might add, that if you have Object Dock installed, you'll need to unzip the docks that you downloaded to this location.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDock Plus2\Backgrounds

You can drop the X86 part if you're running a 32 bit system. ObjectDock Plus2 part may vary, depending on your version.

If its a zoomer, typically sitting at top or bottom of your screen, it goes in the zoomer folder, if its tiles in the tiles folder which can go left or right, top or bottom. Other than that just leave it as is in the background folder.

Hi guys, this is not working for me. I have object dock plus. I just d/l'ed the new metal tech docks, zoomer and tiles. Neither are loading. I also just left the metal tech files in the background folder. In fact, many of the docks that show up in the respective folders (tiles, zoomers and tabs) are not available to me under "settings>style/color>change background". What have I done wrong? I'm running win 8.1. 

delve-miller did you follow what was posted in reply # 1 and 2?  Don't forget that if they show as a zip folder once you put it in the backgrounds folder you need to unzip them.
