sov levels

i usually have 2 champions in my leaders party. am i losing xp by doing this when fighting?  playing on chal/chal i cant seem to get my sov above level 20.
the 2 champions lag 2 or 3 levels behind. ty for any advice.

You can counter this by grabbing the trainer perks on levelup (I might have the name wrong, the one that increases the army's exp gain). They stack and pretty much erase the exp penalty. If I'm playing a champion heavy game I tend to split them up early on until they have a couple points in potential and trainer, then I will eventually merge them back together into a super group if needed.

You are shafting yourself rather hard by having two champions in one army, I believe. From what I've seen, the exp the regular units in the army receive is 100% divided by amount of champions, then halved. Excluding modifications like traits and talents, if a monster is worth 100 exp and you got two champions in your army, the regular units will receive 25 exp. 100 divided by 2 = 50. Half of 50 = 25. Hope that clarify it for you :)
