names for new units

i create units by editing the existing units in game. when i save the result the game automaticaly gives them a name. is there a way i can chose the new name as i edit ? i do not see this currently in the edit features. simple directions please- limited computer skills. ty for any help.

I would also like to name my created units, since I play a lot as custom factions.

I beleive you can just place your cursor in the unit name box and type a new name over it.
