Exploration (HELP)

Ok.. Noob question. I remember when there was the tech tree for "exploration" but now it's not in the game. I have come accross quests that require me to learn exploration...

I have looked everywhere to see how I can do this. I see nothing...

How do I learn exploration, and PLEASE say it's not a random hero skill I can unlock via leveling up. I have not seen it there either..

The in-game quests.

Ones that you can do at the start of the game are yellow scrolled, and the ones you cannot are locked in red.

I've been shooting through the Tech tree, and nothing lets me "Learn Exploration" which is needed to do harder quests.

 

 For example:
I cannot do Medium diffuculty quests.


In the previous version of the game and in War of Magic. I could research the necessary tech in Exploration, but in this game I cannot find where to learn "exploration" for the life of me.

I don't need to research any technology to do medium quests, have you tried reinstalling the game?
They removed those technologies and restrictions in one of the beta patches, it is no longer necessary

I'll try re-installing the game. The old tech tree is gone in the new game, that I see. It just expects me to learn exploration before I can do more quests

If you have any old custom factions, delete them. They are the most common source of this problem, as far as I can tell.

Oh yea, you might want to surf into "My Documents/My Games/Fallen Enchantress" and delete the stuff in the in the "Units" and "Race" folders while reinstalling.

If you have already reinstalled,
just delete everything in the "race" folder,
and everything but the folder called "Icons" in the "Unit" folder

I still wish they would make this an option with the patcher, to delete old custom stuff.

This doesn't work. Game's still bugged and has no mention of Exploration technology anywhere. Between this and the constantly flickering mouse cursor that they still haven't fixed I'm about ready to give up on FE altogether. Constant bugs, constant headaches, probably the last Stardock product I purchase. Constant reinstalls and tweaks, they can't just fix the game and stop introducing new "features" that only serve to break the old systems. Umpteen dozen "redesigns" of the game. Such a headache.

There is no Exploration tech in the game. If quests in your game still require you to research a tech to unlock them, then you are most likely using an outdated custom sov and/or faction. That has been the case every time someone had this happen. If that isn't working in your case, then I'm at a loss as to what the problem could be.

Again, delete ALL elemental related files, and try to reinstall from the server, that means the whole "FallenEnchantress" folder in "My Documents", or "Documents" or whatever its called on your operating system, AND a full uninstall... Then re-download and re-install.

I suspect it might be an old "custom" quest added as some kind of mod...
