If I wanted to edit the planet pipeline effect to make the dark side of planets way darker, could I do that? Is it possible?

I have no clue how to edit those files, only ever seen 2 that can.

I think, like the all models, or meshes, they get a lot of light from the environment cube which is part of the skybox.

I would try darkening the environment textures which will probably darken the whole galaxy. Probably the alfa channel that lights up the galaxy

Also try using a pure black .da texture, just so you've eliminated that variable.
