What's the deal with destiny's embers reviews?

I just finished the book destiny's embers, the elemental book that fe pushes after a game. I really enjoyed it.

but I almost didn't buy it because of all the 1 star reviews. I understand that there are differing opinions on what makes a good books but 1 star seems bizarre. 

my question is, what's going on? Has anyone else here read the book? I'd give it a solid 4 stars.

There was a campaign to 1-star the book led by the wife of someone who got permabanned on QTT for being extremely vicious towards Brad.  It's part of what led to the splitup of said forum 1 year ago.

First thing to understand is that Unamommer's real name is Angie Gallant whose husband got banned from the game forum quartertothree.com. Her husband Matt Gallant has some sort of obsession with Brad. The Gallants got banned from Qt3 and blamed Brad and launched theice petty "revenge" by bad mouthing Brad's book and getting their friends to 1-star it.

I just looked up the book on Amazon.  It sells new for 75¢ and used for 1¢.  If you want to buy the Kindle edition, however, it will cost you $11.99!  Whoever is publishing Brad's book is sure not doing him any favors with the Kindle edition.  It should probably be priced for $1.99 and would sell considerably better.
