[1.12][bug]Auto-resolve - powerful units not casting spells

I came across a level 20 dark wizard who would cast Dispair in battle and completely wipe me out.  Yet when I use Autoresolve I win.  When reviewing the autoresolve log, the dark wizard just moves around and does not cast his powerful spells.

All I can say--and I really love this game--is that Auto Resolve is probably the weakest part of the game. I rarely use it anymore.
